Space Stardust

A mission with many scientific surprises the primary goal of the stardust mission was to collect samples of a comet and return them to earth for laboratory analysis.
Space stardust. As the spacecraft passed through the comet s coma a tray of silica aerogel was opened and exposed to capture coma dust grains. Its primary mission was to collect dust samples from the comaof cometwild 2 as well as samples of cosmic dust and return these to earth for analysis. Vidéos documentaires consacrées à l histoire spatiale et aéronautiques. A smaller fraction of dust in space is stardust consisting of larger refractory minerals that condensed as matter left by stars.
Comets are ancient bodies of frozen ice and dust that formed beyond the orbit of the most distant planet. The mission launched on february 7 1999 and successfully encountered comet wild 2 on january 2 2004. Cosmic dust contains some complex organic compounds amorphous organic solids with a mixed aromatic aliphaticstructure that could be created naturally and rapidly by stars. Stardustwas a 390 kilogram roboticspace probelaunched by nasaon 7 february 1999.
It was the first sample return missionof its kind.
