Space Engineers Ore Detector
The hand drill has a small ore detector built in whereas a ship based ore detector has a larger detection radius.
Space engineers ore detector. The space only ore detectors have small ship. Just look for small patches they often contain gold and silver. After placing the ore detector block it needs only power in order to display ore in a 50m range small ships or 150m large ships around itself. Detects ore deposits around the ship and displays the location and distance on the players hud.
That s about 3 of what they used to be back when they were actually helpful. The ore detector is a block in space engineers. Small and large grid ore detectors need a buff say 50 more range to make them more useful in space when surveying large asteroids or when looking for deep ore veins on planets when driving around in a rover or skimming the surface in an aircraft. Small ore detectors are 100 useless never use them waste of power.
All discussions screenshots artwork broadcasts videos workshop news guides reviews. Use a ship or crane to lock onto the ore detector with landing gear and hold it in place grind down the advanced rotor main part not the head build a small grid advanced rotor on your rover grind down the rotor head on it fly or move the ore detector into position so the rotor head on it lines up with the rotor main part on your rover. Some times when powered down will need an ore to be mined to restart the ore detector. Saving and reloading seems to have fixed the issue.
It really needs to be 200 250 m. Though it s the ore detector movement that seems to cause this player movement in case of using a hand drill. Azimuth ore detector weak space only 1x2x1 range. The ore detector on the small ship 50m range detects the ore the detector on the large ship 150m range does not detect the ore.
If you only see gold then it most likely has also silver just deeper. Detectors appear to have glitches. Now you basically need the detectors to find the ore in the first place. Azimuth ore detector space only 1x1x1 range.
As per title currently the hand drill has the same ore detecting range as a small grid ore detector which is a bit silly really when you think about it. This is the issue. It is for this reason that an ore detector is always highly recommended for the initial identification process. There is actually a ton of ore all over the place.
You have to slow down for a second for it to scan and you need to be somewhere less than 50 100 meters off the ground to see them. Azimuth ore detector weak space only 1x2x1 range. This will put the name of the ore on the hud in approximately the center of the ore patch. As it is now your only choice is large grid ore detectors on as small a large grid ship as you can possible build or find on the workshop and blueprint craft.
When attached to a ship and supplied with power it will display up to 5 ore locations on the player s hud when they are within range exactly like the hand drill does but with much greater range.
