Line Spacing

For most text the optimal line spacing is between 120 and 145 of the point size.
Line spacing. Press ctrl a to select all. To format line spacing select the text you want to format. On the home tab click the line and paragraph spacing command then select the desired line spacing. Step 5 when you have made your selections click ok.
You can also customize the spacing in this section and choose whether word will leave extra space between paragraphs. Or you can do the math multiply your point size by the percentage. In the line spacing section of the dialogue box that opens type in the boxes or use the arrows to choose how many points of space word should insert before and after each line. The line spacing will change in the document.
The letter spacing property is used to specify the space between the characters in a text. Change line spacing for part of your document select the paragraphs you want to change. Most word processors as well as css let you define line spacing as a multiple. The text in this paragraph has line spacing of 135.
For example say you re using a 12 point font for the text in your paragraph. If you choose double spacing that space between lines will be 24 points. In word line spacing is most commonly measured in multiples of whatever font size the paragraph is using. For professional papers also include at least one double spaced blank line above the author note student papers do not include author notes.
Double space the rest of the title page. Go to home line and paragraph spacing select line spacing options and choose an option in the line spacing box. Adjust the before and after settings to change spacing between. The following example demonstrates how to increase or decrease the space between characters.
Change the line spacing in a portion of the document select one or more paragraphs to update.
